Summary

This iconic golf mecca in Rochester, New York has always been recognized as featuring some of the best golf in the world. The clubhouse, a stately Tudor structure had been somewhat neglected over the years and was now in desperate need of significant infrastructure upgrades as well as improvements to the aging member facing spaces in their aging clubhouse. Additionally, the club felt it important to add and improves some of the non-golf amenities throughout the campus. Leadership and management embarked upon a global facility master plan to investigate options to improve the member experience in the main house as well as their undersized pool and racquets complex while at the same time addressing deferred maintenance issues. Having completed a member survey leadership and management had a clear understanding of what their members wanted from Oak Hill, in additional to their prized Donald Ross golf courses. In Spring of 2020, Oak Hill Country Club began a comprehensive master plan that included the expansion of the main house to accommodate a new member focused Donald Ross Pub, an enlarged event space to replace the unsightly tent and a large addition to enhance the golf experience and enlarge the fitness center. Additionally, improved staff facilities were included along with other back of house upgrades. Improvements proposed for the pool/racquets complex included the addition of 4 new pickle ball courts, 3 additional paddle courts, an enlarged pool deck featuring a new splash pad and a new bar/dining pavilion. After countless iterations, multiple meetings and a herculean effort by club leadership and management, the Oak Hill Country Club membership solidly approved the $44 million-dollar 3 phase plan. Completion of the pool/racquets facility is expected in Spring of 2023, just in time for the 2023 PGA Championship with the main clubhouse construction to begin immediately following.
